Celebrate Today and Every Day!
The month of May is always a month of celebration and personal milestones for me. May opens up with the recognition that I am blessed to have my husband and three children shower me with love on Mother's Day. Shortly after Mother's Day, I celebrate my birthday on May 16th. This year I am celebrating 56 years of life, good health, and a cadre of family and friends to share life’s joys and sorrows.
In 56 years, I have learned to celebrate every day that God gives. I’ve learned how to authentically celebrate myself and others by eliminating issues that have the potential to cloud my vision or hinder my ability to appreciate all that life brings.
Here are some common enemies of celebration that one must overcome in order to embrace life in totality:
Negative Thinking
Self-Defeating Beliefs
Self-Imposed Limitations
Lack of Self-Confidence
Comparing Ourselves to Others
Envy, Gossip and Jealousy
On the other hand, our perspective of life is enhanced when we:
Change Our Vision of Beauty
Get in Touch with Our Values
Stop Comparing Our Lives to Others
Resolve Unmet Needs, Unhealed Hurts, and Unresolved Issues
Learn to Be Satisfied
Avoid Negative Thoughts and Conversations
Compliment Others
Find Our Circle of Friends
Throw A Party for Ourselves and Others
Every day we are alive is a reason for celebration. You don’t have to wait for a milestone birthday, a child’s graduation, a wedding, a job opportunity, a new car, a new house, or a new baby to be born. Make a commitment to celebrate today and every day!
